Lawrence Davies - CEO & Solicitor

Lawrence Davies is a distinguished UK solicitor and the founder of Equal Justice Solicitors. With over 19 years of dedicated service, he has earned a reputation for his relentless fight against discrimination and his commitment to promoting equality in the workplace. Remarkably, in nearly two decades, Lawrence and his firm have lost only one case, a testament to his expertise and dedication.

Lawrence has represented individuals in a wide array of discrimination cases, encompassing race, sex, age, and disability. He is a fervent advocate for fair treatment and equal opportunities for all, ensuring that justice is accessible to everyone, regardless of their background.

His journey in law began at the University of Leicester, where he completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees. During his time there, he established the university's first law clinic, laying the groundwork for his lifelong commitment to social justice.

Admitted as a solicitor in 1994, Davies initially worked at a top 10 City law firm. Despite an offer to become a partner, he chose to pursue a more fulfilling path, transitioning to human rights law. His career took him to the Lambeth Law Centre, where he made history as the first and only UK lawyer to defeat the United States of America in court, a feat highlighted by BBC Newsnight.

Presently, Lawrence Davies stands as the only UK lawyer—whether KC, barrister, or solicitor—to have won two of the Top 10 UK awards as an advocate. His legal prowess is further evidenced by his success in defeating several KCs in both the Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) and multi-day Employment Tribunal (ET) hearings.

Driven by a profound commitment to helping people, Lawrence Davies continues to use his legal expertise to champion the rights of those who need it most. His career is a testament to the impact that one dedicated individual can have in the pursuit of real justice for real people.
